Two Bus Transfers, Two Jeepney Rides, and One Tricycle Journey

Back in 2017, when OMS and our partner The Juan Project embarked on the endeavor of saturating the Philippines and beyond with the Gospel, we discovered a pressing need. Many of our pastors and church leaders were facing a significant gap in equipping due to limited access to training institutions and events.

 It was disheartening to learn that that one pastor in the southeast part of the country had only been able to attend two of our many training workshops in his 20-year pastoral journey due to the lack of transport.

 In one province, a group of pastors, fueled by a desire to unite in their saturation efforts, formed a ministry association. They came close to succumbing to false teachings until our training team stepped in to provide the necessary equipping.

 The scope of The Juan Project has evolved from reaching 5 provinces in 2017 to 13 provinces today.  However, this expansion has brought about a new set of challenges. The same tireless workers who once traveled together to train and coach are now dispersed among three or four different groups. Consequently, a pressing need has emerged: the need for a vehicle.

 Public transportation in the Philippines is quite challenging. On one occasion, our training team took two bus transfers, two jeepney rides, and one tricycle ride just to reach their destination—all while carrying the training materials along with their personal belongings. These trips consume valuable time that could be better spent furthering the Gospel. 

 With this backdrop we humbly appeal to your generosity and support. A dedicated vehicle will not only be helpful in our operations but, more importantly, will allow us to maximize our impact by reducing travel times and ensuring the safety of our teams.
